Easyfairs earns ESG Award for its sustainability strategy
Easyfairs has been recognised for its sustainability strategy and results, receiving the prestigious ESG Award from Exhibition News.
This accolade acknowledges team members‘ dedication to Environmental, Social, and Governance initiatives, making a positive impact while excelling in the events industry. These past few years, team members have made a lot of effort to achieve the three pillars of their “Act for the future” strategy:
- Reducing the carbon footprint of Easyfairs events and venues
- Supporting businesses on their own journey towards net zero while championing their growth and development through our events
- Being a responsible employer, which prioritises employee well-being and development and fosters diversity and inclusivity
“This Award reflects the hard work of all Easyfairs champions who have been instrumental in turning our ESG and sustainability commitments into reality. It’s about taking action, making real changes, and knowing that every little bit counts. Of course, there’s much more to do, explore, improve and implement. We’re doing good but aiming for great,” says Nil Sönmez, Easyfairs Chief Sustainability and Customer Experience Officer.
“We care for our planet is one of our core values. That’s why we’ve built sustainability into our business model from the very start at Easyfairs. Through our events, we also now aspire to become reference platforms, acting an ‘enablers’ to support businesses and industries in their own transition to net zero,” says Anne Lafère, Group CEO.
“Our pursuit of sustainability goes hand in hand with our broader mission of creating value for all stakeholders, whether they are customers, employees, business partners, shareholders or, of course, the communities we serve. We believe that a sustainable future is not just an aspiration but an imperative, and we invite everyone to join us on this essential journey,” adds Matt Benyon Group CEO.
“Easyfairs continues to set the standard for excellence in the events industry, demonstrating a steadfast commitment to sustainability and responsible business practices. The company exemplifies how businesses can thrive while prioritising environmental conservation, social responsibility, and ethical governance. Congratulations to Easyfairs for this well-deserved recognition!” says Eva Maxson, Environmental Engineer Consultant with Climact.
Climact, a Belgium-based environmental consultancy firm, continues to work closely with Easyfairs on their sustainability strategy. So far, the collaboration has included:
- Calculating their complete carbon footprint for two years
- Evaluating the environmental impact of various exhibition stand types
- Assessing the impact that specific emission reduction actions would have on Easyfairs’ carbon footprint
