Easyfairs Academy Summit 2024: inspiration and cultural exchanges in Berlin

The Easyfairs Senior Leadership Team (SLT), composed of about 100 team members from 12 countries came together in Berlin for a three-day annual Academy Summit.

“Every year, the Academy Summit gives us the chance to gain fresh insights and inspiration. It’s all about cultural exchanges, networking, collaboration, sharing knowledge, and having a great time together,” commented Easyfairs Group CEO Anne Lafère.

Topics under discussion this year included the company’s vision, strategy, ambitions, financial outlook, technological roadmap and work-life balance.

The meeting rounded off a uniquely successful event season in which Easyfairs saw significant growth, picked up several prestigious awards, and attracted fresh investment to fund its next growth phase.

“This year’s Academy Summit was extra special, as we are opening a new chapter in the Easyfairs story with the influx of investment funds from Cobepa and Inflexion,” added Easyfairs Group CEO Matt Benyon.

Unleashing the Power of AI

The focus of this year’s gathering was Artificial Intelligence (AI). Easyfairs dedicated a full day to exploring AI’s transformative power. This included a highly entertaining session given by Belgian comedian, physicist and science communicator Lieven Scheire.
Easyfairs has already made significant progress deploying artificial intelligence. A series of “Fast & Curious” sessions showcased the concrete results of pilot projects within sales, marketing, and business development.

“AI has an incredible potential to significantly ease the workload on our team members, save time, and achieve better results. Instead of merely talking about AI, we aim to become pioneers in implementing and testing new AI solutions,” said Easyfairs Head of Technology and Digital Transformation, Stephan Forseilles.

Fun in Berlin

Having fun is one of the core values of Easyfairs, and Berlin offers great nightlife. The Easyfairs SLT truly embraced the Berlin spirit, starting with a “Rooftop Disco Grill & Groove” night on the banks of the River Spree on Tuesday, and “Burning Glam Night Out” at Berlin’s exciting new event location, Halle E, a converted factory in Berlin Treptow.
